Database Facility (GDF)

High-capacity databases, coupled with the power of modern statistical methods, will make it possible to develop a comprehensive understanding of gene function, protein function, and their complex interactions.

As new technologies evolve and mature, it will be critical to integrate the data derived from these approaches with existing databases to obtain an ever-more comprehensive view of the regulation of biological processes. These integrated databases will be an invaluable resource for life scientists.

Current efforts in Insect Genomics and Animal Genomics, and the development of informatics for our core facility are the beginning of a concentrated effort in this area. Additionally, we coordinate Student Programmers for Bioinformatics, a program to match students with programming skills to faculty with specific bioinformatics needs.

The goal of the Database Facility is to provide intergrated data management capabilities for the Purdue University community. All data are private. Public databases can be developed if a P.I. desires.

Currently we have web access to two of the data pipelines. The following pages will let you upload and download information from the database.
