QTL for natural populations

The main objective of this project is to develop statistical methodology to detect DNA sequence associated with quantitative phenotypes in natural populations. Thus far we have adapted the coalescent model algorithm to allow for realistic genome wide simulations. This involved substantial algorithm modification, and translated the algorithm from exponential to a linear growth in the number of markers. This simulation program can be downloaded here.

Chris Willmore is an undergraduate working on a GUI interface to the simulator.

We expect release of the simulator in early Spring.
